A few weeks ago I was asked to shoot the introductory line for the new clothing line, Machete Amour. As their website states, Machete Amour Apparel is designed to represent your lifestyle. Whether it’s fast cars, live music, beautiful art, or good times, Machete Amour stands for you. Be raw, adventurous, and brave. Be strong, confident, and powerful. We had a great time shooting the line, and the session included on location images, as well as studio shots. Something that I was completely surprised and impressed with, was that Machete Amour will be doing something a bit different with the way they purchase designs. They will be hiring artists who’s art inspires and moves them, and then will be paying a base rate for the design as well as giving the artist a percentage commission per sale of each tee that their design is printed on. Coming from working for a number of years in the merchandising industry, this rarely happens, and truly is an amazing thing. Most designers get well underpaid for the quality of work they provide, and Machete Amour is trying to change that!
